Kofi Osei is a lifelong Towamencin resident, grassroots organizer, and current Secretary and At-Large Supervisor on the Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors, serving a term through 2029. He is now a candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate District 24, bringing a proven record of fighting—and winning—for his community.

Kofi first gained countywide recognition in 2022 when Towamencin voters elected him to the Government Study Commission. As a central leader in the successful effort to rewrite the township’s charter, he helped pass two historic ballot questions that adopted a new home rule charter—the first in Montgomery County since 1986. This reform empowered the community to stop a proposed sewer privatization deal, ultimately saving residents millions of dollars a year. His work with Neighbors Opposing Privatization Efforts (NOPE) continues today, as he travels across Pennsylvania to help communities push back against similar privatization schemes.

In 2023, Kofi was elected to the Board of Supervisors in a highly unusual race that ended in an initial tie and was ultimately decided by a legally mandated drawing of lots—a moment that made local history. Despite facing challenges from Trump-aligned attorneys attempting to remove him from office, he successfully defended his seat and immediately focused on delivering tangible results for residents.

As Supervisor, Kofi has been unapologetic in his values and steadfast in his leadership—whether making clear that Nazis have no place in the community or advancing policies that strengthen Towamencin’s long-term resilience. His accomplishments include championing long-term capital planning to stabilize taxes, expanding open space protections, and finally passing a long-delayed backyard chicken ordinance that had been stalled for seven years.

Beyond Towamencin, Kofi is deeply engaged in regional and statewide issues. He has been an advocate for restoring and expanding SEPTA funding amid state budget threats and has been active in the push for real housing solutions in response to the 100,000-unit shortage identified by Governor Shapiro.

With a record defined by persistence, transparency, and results, Kofi is running for State Senate to bring effective, community-driven leadership to Harrisburg.
